SUGAR LAND--August 30, 2016--Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Words such as "whopping" are often frowned upon by old-school journalists, but use of the superlative can perhaps be forgiven in regard to the amount of new ethylene capacity that's expected to come online next year in the U.S.


Trey Hamblet, Industrial Info's vice president of research - chemical processing, says the new ethylene capacity to come online is the largest amount that he's seen in any single year. But he's not surprised, noting that all of this new capacity began construction in the same year, back in 2014.
