Chevron USA Production will shut down the 200 million-standard-cubic-foot-per-day, single-train Headlee Devonian Natural Gas Processing Plant in Ector County, Texas, in November as Chevron converts it to a natural gas booster station.
Canada's federal government has approved the Pacific NorthWest LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) project in British Columbia, with 190 legally binding conditions, according to CBC News. Environment Minister Catherine McKenna said the project is worth an estimated $11 billion and would be one of Canada's largest resource development projects.
Irving Oil will shut down the 74,000 barrel-per-day (BBL/d) Residual FCCU 425 this weekend, October 1, to perform three weeks of minor maintenance and control inventory at its 300,000-BBL/d refinery in Saint John, New Brunswick. The 40-day refinery turnaround that began on September 25 continues on the 150,000-BBL/d Crude 3, 24,000-BBL/d Naphtha Hydrotreater Train 1, 24,000-BBL/d Naphtha Hydrotreater Train 2, 25,000-BBL/d Rheniformer 2 and 40,000-BBL/d Diesel HDS 135 units.
LyondellBasell’s Houston Refining LP restarted 120,000-barrel-per-day (BBL/d) Crude 536 Unit and the associated 91,000-BBL/d Vacuum Unit at its 265,000-BBL/d refinery in Houston, Texas, Tuesday, after they were taken offline Monday, September 26, due to pump-related issues.
Ameren Missouri is derating the 1,300-megawatt (MW) Callaway Nuclear Power Station in Fulton, Missouri, to 845 MW, or 65%, to address some issues with the main feed pump control. The company expects to have it back to full power later today.
Northern States Power Company is derating the 671-megawatt (MW) Monticello Nuclear Generating Station in Monticello, Minnesota, to 389.8 MW, or 58%, to address issues with the circulating pump. The company expects to have it back to full power later today.
