Engineers India Limited Looks to More than $41 Billion in Refining & Petrochemical Projects in India & Middle East
Engineers India Limited (EIL) is one of India's largest engineering and related technical services providers in india. They currently have a portfolio that stretches across the Power Generation, Petroleum Refining, Chemical Processing, and Oil & Gas Production industries. Industrial Info is tracking more than 300 active projects worth a combined $41.5 billion that involve EIL.
Some of the highest-valued projects include a petrochemical plant in Kakinada, India, from GAIL India Limited and an ethylene plant in Sohar, Oman, from Oman Oil Company. The latter already has entered its engineering phase and is among $6.15 billion in projects based in the Middle East to feature EIL.
Nearly $26 billion of the total is attributed to projects in India, including Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation's 1,585-kilometer natural gas pipeline, one of many proposals intended to bolster the nation's energy infrastructure, which is constantly stressed by a burgeoning population.
Other projects in the include Eastern Refinery Limited's expansion of its petroleum refinery in Chittagong, Bangladesh. The company hopes to triple the capacity of its facility, which produces gasoline and bitumen products.
Many of these projects, however, have faced delays due to weak commodity prices and a complicated regulatory atmosphere. For more details on what's happening with projects from EIL and other leading contractors in India, please subscribe to the IIR blog.
