FERC to Prepare Environmental Impact Study for Jordan Cove LNG

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) has issued a notice of intent to prepare an environmental impact statement for the planned $6 billion Jordan Cove liquefied natural gas (LNG) liquefaction facility and terminal project in Coos Bay, Oregon, and the 231-mile Pacific Connector pipeline project. Dow Shuts Down Freeport PDH Unit for 25-Day Turnaround

Dow Chemical has shut down the1.65 billion-pound-per-year propane dehydrogenation unit at its Freeport (Oyster Creek), Texas, facility. The maintenance turnaround is expected to last 25 days and will include a catalyst change-out and minor repairs. The unit is expected to restart July 6. Clinton Nuclear Facility Unit 01 in Ohio Running at Reduced Capacity

Unit 01 of the Clinton Nuclear Power Station in Illinois was running Tuesday at only 25% capacity due to feedwater heater loss. The unit has a capacity of 1,065 megawatts. ExxonMobil Starts Planned Maintenance at Baytown Refinery

ExxonMobil began eight weeks of planned maintenance on the 25,000-barrel-per-day (BBL/d) HCU 1 (Fuels East Hydrocracker) unit and SRU A Plant at its 557,000-BBL/d Baytown, Texas, Refinery. Separately, the 90,000-BBL/d fluid catalytic cracking unit (FCCU) 2 was not restarted in late May as previously reported, due to additional repairs. The unit was restarted and became fully operational this past weekend. (Plant: 1001169)

Shell to Shut Down Norco Hydrocracker Due to Heat Exchanger Issues

Shell was planning to shut down the 40,000-barrel-per-day (BBL/d) hydrocracker late Tuesday evening or early Wednesday at its 240,000-BBL/d refinery in Norco, Louisiana, due to heat exchanger issues. Current expectations are for the unit to be down for one to two weeks, depending on the extent of repairs. Industrial Info is tracking $250 million in project activity at the refinery, including a planned $80 million hydrocracker unit expansion. (Outage: 375080) (Plant: 1000081)
