North American power project completions for third-quarter 2017 appear to be roughly on par with what they were in the same quarter of 2016. Industrial Info is tracking $10.19 billion in power project activity that is expected to reach completion this quarter.

In comparison, third-quarter 2016 saw the completion of projects with a combined worth of $10.08 billion.

In terms of total investment value, the biggest project completion for this quarter in terms of dollar value has to do with getting rid of an old facility to make room for a new power station. The $1.2 billion dismantlement/demolition of a former magnesium refining facility and Formica production facility in Dover Plains, New York, began in January this year and is expected to be completed this August. Bechtel Group Incorporated (San Francisco, California) is providing engineering, procurement and construction services, and Environmental Remediation Services Incorporated (East Syracuse, New York) is the dismantlement contractor.
