Spending on pharmaceutical and biotech projects in North America will rise 1.4% this year from 2017, according to Industrial Info's 2018 Global Industrial Outlook.

Annette Kreuger, Industrial Info's vice president of research for the Pharmaceutical-Biotech Industry, said, "An impact from favorable new tax laws is expected to boost capex investment, as more cash is readily available. New products and technologies are also a factor."
